Local knowledge

Suburban core, rural edges, river frontage

Ramsey's center of gravity is the Highway 10 corridor and The COR development, ringed by subdivisions built from the 90s through the 2010s — builder-grade furnaces now hitting their first and second rounds of failures, often while parts are still under manufacturer warranty. But most of Ramsey's map is something else entirely: large-lot and rural properties stretching toward the Rum River and along the Mississippi frontage, where homes run on LP, outbuildings have their own heaters, and a hard January exposes every weak regulator and tired ignitor at once. We service both Ramseys — the subdivision furnace on a Saturday night and the propane system on ten acres — and we document warranty-eligible repairs so newer equipment gets fixed on the manufacturer's dime where possible.

Common failures

The repairs we see most in Ramsey

  • First-round failures in 90s–2010s builder-grade furnaces — ignitors, boards, blowers
  • Warranty checks before billing — much of Ramsey's newer equipment is still covered
  • LP furnace and regulator service on rural and riverfront properties
  • Garage, shop, and outbuilding heater repairs on acreage lots
  • Frosted intake and exhaust vents on high-efficiency furnaces during cold snaps

No heat? Do these three things first

  1. 1

    Check the thermostat

Make sure it's set to HEAT and the batteries aren't dead.

  2. 2

    Check the filter

A clogged filter can shut a furnace down on high-limit.

  3. 3

    Check the switch and breaker

The furnace switch looks like a light switch and gets flipped by mistake more than you'd think.

Still no heat? Call us at 763-428-3677. After-hours emergency service is available.

Both sides of the gas main

A company that only knows subdivisions gets lost on Ramsey's acreage, and a rural outfit is slow to a townhouse off Highway 10. We run both every week — straight up Highway 10 from our Maple Grove shop — after-hours emergency service available.

FAQ

Ramsey furnace repair questions, answered

We're on propane near the Rum River. Do you carry LP parts?

Yes — LP furnace service, regulators, and conversion parts are stocked on our trucks. Rural Ramsey is regular territory.

My furnace is 10 years old and just quit. Will this be expensive?

Maybe not — at that age the failure is usually an ignitor or board, and the part may still be under manufacturer warranty. We check coverage before you pay for anything.

Do you offer emergency service in Ramsey?

Call our office at 763-428-3677 — and for heating or cooling emergencies outside office hours, after-hours emergency service is available.

Our high-efficiency furnace keeps shutting down in deep cold. Why?

Check the PVC intake and exhaust on the side of the house for frost or snow blockage — the furnace locks out for safety when they clog. If it recurs, the venting needs correction, which we do properly.
